Good quality. With this laser module I can engrave anodized aluminum, cut plywood, cardboard or leatherette. 2mm birch plywood cuts in 4 phases at 130mm / min. Air assist is required to cut plywood.

I used a DIY Laser Power Meter to do a quick test upon receipt of the Laser. A quick measurement showed 4200mW (4.2 Watts at the meter) output based on the calibration of the Meter I built and calibrated. With further testing it may output a higher value reading. The power output was set by an Eleksmaker Mana SE board and Eleksmaker Evolution Desktop CAM 3.1. It took a long time to get this to the USA. ( 1 month )

Given that this is a fairly expensive piece of equipment some documentation and a cover to protect the exposed electronics should have been included. Now the good news: With careful focusing (I use a headband magnifier from Banggood, laser goggles and power at 1%) I can get cuts about 0.2mm wide in wood !! When unfocused the beam becomes rectangular. This is my first laser and I bought it to do wood engraving on my 2mx3m homemade cnc. It seems perfect for this application. I have not tried cutting but it slices through paper at 30% power like butter. Note that the laser is at full power when first plugged in so PWM is important to have. It was delivered in under 2 weeks to Canada and I'm very happy with purchase - Thanks Banggood ! :-)

I have this rigged up to a thrown together cnc machine with 4 steppers and 4 tb6600 stepper drivers hooked up to an arduino mega running with grbl and now with this 5W laser engraving module. I wish there were instructions or google searches with people who did this more but there are not. so here's some tips. I found if I put the dangly cable where the power is coming in from connected to the ground on the arduino and the + on the ttl/pwn thing on the right part it works, after doing the $32 enable laser mode on the grbl settings. then throw in some g-code generated from inkspace with some laser plugin (which puts the m3 and m5 gcode to turn on and off the laser module) in to g-code sender platform, it works very well. I engraved a bunch of phallic objects that I can't really add as another picture here due to it being inappropriate and just juvenile but, what other test subject matter is there than a few huge richards to laugh at. the after adjusting the focus a little it makes a very small ~0.5mm burn dot. I tried it on some wood planks I had laying around which made my garage smell wonderful from the burning wood.

We have been using an EleksLaser 1.6 watt engraver. This 5 watt blows my old laser out of the water. I have yet to test just how powerful this laser is but I have been able to put a mark on anodized aluminum (it just takes forever). Everything that was advertised was delivered. I will post a video when i get the chance.

I am very pleased with this laser. I have mounted it to a MPCNC machine and I have so far engraved photographs on plywood and cut out some intricate parts from 2mm grayboard. It easily cut through 3mm plywood (3 / 4 passes) which is the furthest I've pushed it so far.
