These lights are ideal for my purpose. I have a small greenhouse in my apt. I attached these to the OUTSIDE surface. These strips generate very little heat. I power them with an old computer PSU, using the 12v wires. These strips pull only 2.5v each. Really cheap to operate and an excellent source of auxiliary light for my orchids.

The only problem I found is the gum is not so strong. You need to use another double sided tape to fix the ribbon firmly

This is an update to my earlier post where I said this strip was 31W, rather than the 72W advertised. 31W was with the 5M strip only powered from one end, but I overlooked the fact that the strip resistance of a 5M strip usually has to be considered and when the strip is powered from both ends it is actually 52W. Still not the 72W advertised but closer. Perhapes the 72W rating was obtained based on a 1M length. I now also have a non-weather proof version 5M 5730 strip Product ID: 1111201 and it was interesting to see that it's only rated 30W. See my review on it's page for more info about it's actual power. Also interesting - both strips are labelled warm white but this w/p strip is very white in comparison and checking the web page again I see that the choices are warm white and white at the top of the page but lower down it shows white and cold white so I'm guessing warm white actually means white. Very confusing.
