I put 4 stars for quality just because item arrived with some scratches and without batteries. Except of this - everything else is perfect.

Scale works very well, but there are two limitations: 1) The physics. If you tilt the scale, the measured value decreases. It's normal and can't be prevented for hand held spoon scale. However, the bottom of the scale is flat, so you can lay it on the table and the value will be steady and accurate. This is necessary only for calibration, not for ordinary weighting in kitchen. 2) The spoon size is much bigger issue. This is 500g scale, but you don't have any chance to use that capacity. Maybe with lead shot pellets... but full spoon of granulated sugar is around 50g max. Maybe the manufacturer's intention was to prevent overload and damage to the scale, but this crippled the scale's applicability. The calibration isn't documented in "manual". The cal procedure: push Tare (which also works as on/off) and immediately push and hold Mode. After a few seconds CAL appears on the display. Lay scale on the flat and horizontal surface, spoon must be empty and press Mode again. This will calibrate zero point and 200g appears on the display. Place 200g in the spoon. The scale will automatically calibrate 200g point and 500g appears on the display. Again, place 500g. The spoon is quite small and it's difficult, if you have 500g calibration weight as a couple pieces. You may use thin bag, its weight is insignificant. Due to spoon size limit, this scale isn't perfect for cooking, but it's very usefull for sport nutrition supplements, where the amounts are usualy much smaller.
