Works as described. Box has some bad treatment marks but the device seems fine and full operational. Not so accurate but good enough for amateur use. You can use this not only for car paint but for many other applications, such as measuring the coating thickness on frying pans, heaters, etc. and discovering if a surface has mextal underneath, for example a laptop screen back. Needs double calibration every time you switch it on. Also during calibration dont rush removing it from the calibration pad, otherwise measurements will be even less accurate.
