Very effective for distance and still useable in confined spaces. High quality. The user interface is a simple ramp up/down - click-and-hold. I prefer this to the Anduril interface, it's faster and more intuitive. The distance perfomance in incredible for it small size and the quoted range is genuine. For close up work in small spaces the wide beam pattern is still useable but there will be a bright hot-spot - this is a natural consequence of using a long distance searchlight of course! Runtime is very good - a very efficient flashlight.
