I recently wasted $35 worth of points on a Sonoff bridge "security system". It wasn't even worth $3.50. So, trust me when I say that the Xiaomi security system is worth the money. Actually it's worth more than it costs. Not only are each of the individual components all separately configurable in multiple ways, to do a multitude of different tasks, but as it turns out the main task of being a security system are already set to go out of the box. You can customise this configuration if you like - I did, by setting a delay when arming the system, and changing how it is armed. Additionally you can integrate the entire system into your Home Assistant home automation setup and can then voice control some of the components using your Google Home (and presumably Alexa) even though this hasn't actually been rolled out by Xiaomi yet. If you think you want this, don't hesitate, it's worth it.
