There's solder squeezed through the thermal vias. There's remains of solder flux around the cpu. Silkscreen is cut off at some points (E0 looks like F0). The supplied pin headers are spaced slightly less than 100mil (99.8mil / 2.535mm) which may be sloppy manufacturing, but it has the unexpected advantage that the pins don't fall out, and the pins are automatically centered! The LED is orange and brightness is ok (not eye-blindingly bright like many Arduino clones).

I bought this unit to use it as an unlocker/jailbreaker for PlayStation 3. It means that I used it with a ready made compiled BIN file to access the NOR memory in the console and replace its firmware with an old one, making it possible this way to jailbreak the console. OK, then I was curious to test this device more advanced. First I've tried some other ready made BIN's from the development package (fast, slow flashing LED's etc.). Then I wrote a little SW to interface a custom made device. I was good surprised to see how easy this Atmel controller can be used as a general purpose microcontroller as well as a fully supported Full-speed USB interface. There is no driver needed for emulating the serial interface as this device has direct Windows/linux support and appears as a Human Interface Device (HID). Good and cheap device for experimenting. Very small size and it may be implemented as a permanent interface in a custom made equipment.
