arttrudelle I believe it has about 1000 more lumens. So although the you have less lumens with sst40, i believe the through is about 40% more. So, if you want brighter wait for XHP50, if you want still bright but more throw (distance of beam) go with sst40. I have sst40 on order. I would buy both :)

arttrudelle Thrower. Probably good spill too, but 850m is defintely a mid range throwing light

arttrudelle 13000 lumens and 1000 meters for $179? Still seems like a great light to me!

arttrudelle it will technically, but you will probably need to modify the 18650 battery sleeve to hold it in place
