Paul common specs for a 895 hobby motor are: DC 12-24V. 12V ~6000rpm ; Maximum Torque:7.6kg 24V ~12000rpm ; Maximum Torque:9.8kg I do think it would use 360W 3Amp. it's a really torquey motor, stronger than a 775

Paul you can minimize he soot build up with denatured alcohol for fuel and insure the flame is not too high. Brasso (a brass and silver polish) and soft cloth with clean it up pretty well

Paul it really does not have much power to do useful work, but if you have a very small DC motor (10mm maybe) and pulley, it could power a an LED

Paul power usage is 20W. it's optical laser power is pretty close to 5.5W compared to a few lasers I have from 2000mW to 5000mW

Paul ordinarily it cannot engrave a curved surface. if the material goes beyond 2.0 - 2.5 degrees from level, the results will be poor. if the font to be engraved is small enough, it can do the task. otherwise, you'd need 2 or 3 separate designs, each half or a third of the letters, then rotate the material precisely and do next pass, etc.

Paul sorry as of now it's not compatible with lasergrbl. I have heard that later versions will have support for lasergrbl. remember this is a low-end machine. ViaCad can export .dxf files that work

Paul since it is thick, the results won't be that great. it is best for paper products, very thin opaque plastics can be cut. for your application. a cnc engraver would be best, and the cheap ones are about the same price point

Paul before running your design, the laser should be focused for crispest dot. go back and forth with the wheel until it appears best
