Q: I want an explanation of usage

bucherb the purpose of the dummy HDMI plug is to stimulate an external 4k monitor for headless computers accessed remotely and that have no display attached. W11 would by default otherwise set the resolution to something like 640x480 VGA...

Though I got this trail camera on sale for 22USD, I wasn't expecting much from other reviews, but it still gets nice shots day & night. Be aware that night shots use PIR LEDs and you have to be careful where you point the camera towards.. i.e. I had it looking thru my sidewalk in direction of my heatpump and the PIR LEDs reflect on the shiny metal, which makes it unusable to see anything else. Quality of the pics are really only so-so, don't expect 2k or 4k pics.. even the size of the shots is about 5120x2880, it looks very grainy in the end. The videos are in AVI format which is encoded weirdly as MJPG, so be aware that not every player can read that format (1920x1080, but gets really at 1083x586). Unfortunately I can't upload that format here and I don't have a converter for AVI to GIF. What bugs me the most is that the TIME.TXT file on the card gets reset every time you shut off the camera to remove the card to a default setting of 2021-03-03-03:03:03 332Y.. This is extremely annoying as you have to re-enter the whole timestamp every time instead of just updating the time. The saving code (332Y) changes also every time and does not keep your setup. The box came in a simple plastic envelope and thus was slightly crunched at the bottom and the corners.. not the end, but poor packaging, and this is the first time it happens. Can't really give more than 3 stars, though the build quality seems solid and may last a couple years (hopefully). Might report back after a few weeks of use, as I just received this one 2 days ago.

bucherb HiBob, Thanks for cam review on YT.. I received mine and wondered if you noticed that the TIME.TXT file gets reset all the time to default values? plus, I realized after a few shots that there is practically zero EXIF data in the files!!

Very happy with this excellent rugged smartphone.. I remove 1 star because the back glass of the camera already broke after about 2 months of use and the phone dropped once on the floor.. The camera cover glass is definitely not Gorilla glass and very fragile.. be careful. I had to order a replacement lens glass on another site as this one didn't have parts and also glass protection shield to prevent the same to happen again (hopefully). Unfortunately the protection shield was slightly wider and doesn't fit 100% correctly on the glass, so I'll have to cut about 1mm off. Other than that the phone performs very well and the system is quick and reliable. no fuss. Camera resolution could be a little better, but it wasn't the main criteria for this purchase (ruggedness and waterproof was important).

bucherb That alone should be warning sign to NOT BUY this watch :-) Don't put a swimming sports mode on when it's only IP67 proof..

Having been an iPhone user (by business) for years, I felt it was time to switch world and move into the Android sphere.. I carefully picked up this Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro model after reading a lot of reviews. I love this phone, though it's much bigger than my old iPhone 6, but the camera(s) are so much better in all aspects. I also love how I can setup a dual desktop space thanks to MIUI to keep my personal and business apps appart and all the contacts & e-mails. This makes it number 1 choice for business peopel The battery lasts me easily thru 2 days and in low usage, have even be able to reach 3 days. All in all a fantastic phone! Can't beat for the price. I ordered the white model and the clear crystal silicone case makes look very nice. Little things like the cap to cover the charging port are the kind of things that make you realize how well it is designed. This keeps dirt and filth from your pocket to get into the USB-C hole. Great choice!
