davidrebar I have run mine for 6 hours at a time, back to back for days with no problems so far. Mine has not shut off from over heating to date. It actually seems to work more consistently if you warm it up with small job first. It would depend on the room temperature too. IF you mod it for better cooling, it will go longer.

davidrebar Just like normal seasonal Concord grapes, but dwarf variety. If Concord grapes grow well in your temperate zone, then yes. Otherwise, for a few bucks you can be the first to find out and report back.

davidrebar Most likely yes, although it's not something that I've tried and its likely to catch fire. It would depend on the foam thickness, type of laser and most definitely need vented to get rid of the toxic gases given off. You must keep in mind the nature of lasers too. A laser gets slightly wider and significantly less powerful over distance. So, the side closest to the laser will be precise, while the bottoms side will be a few hairs over cut on each side of the line. If you need precise cutting on top and bottom you can correct for this by making multiple passes and either refocusing the laser or adding a 3rd dimension to lower the laser enough to refocus it each time. The laser is more powerful on the top side than the bottom because of gasses in our atmosphere. The way to correct for this would be to encase your cutting area in a way, so as to vacuum out the air with a pump. This would also reduce the risk of fire as most foams are flammable and there would be a danger of catching fire unless you can remove the oxygen. If you can't encase it in a vacuum, you might inject CO2 or argon? You are essentially cutting with very high temperature fire !!! A 2500 mw laser is cooler than a 15w laser. You could modify it with a blade or wire to cut, where you can control the heat of the wire with voltage. The laser that comes with this is the weakest, but is adjustable. Other lasers are on or off.
