fabioschmidt I have this product and use it always plugged in. No problem when using it on battery. The manufacturer put this to ensure that the customer will use 5V power supply on it. You can use any ordinary 5V cellphone charger on it that it will work fine.

fabioschmidt Please verify, my flask light did come with the battery inside, it had a plastic separator to avoit battery contact, just remove this plastic and the flashlight will work.
