Arrived safe and sound. It comes preloaded with NodeMCU firmware, which allows you to directly connect to it via serial comms, but you will need a serial-FTDI adaptor or a dedicated ESP01 adaptor stick. With its original stock firmware you can effectivly use it as a wi-fi/serial port for MCU without wi-fi capacity. But it is still a ESP2866, at heart, all be it with limited pin options... and can be programmed using the arduino IDE. You will need a USB Adaptor/Link to program and interact with these easily, and even then it will need some modification of pulling IO0 to ground in order to upload you sketch. I made a simple modification to the ESP-01s Link V2.0 which I got from Banggood. By adding a simple switch to the GND and IO0 pin I can easily select programing mode or interact mode. So for simple, ESP2866 applications thse look really handy. If you new to ESP2866 go for somethng like a Mini D1, but for the more experiance user the is cheep fun to be had
