A great machine! I've always wanted a hit and miss engine since seeing them as a boy at country shows/steam rallies. I think it started about third flick of the flywheel first session of running it. I've only ran it a few times so far and from cold it seems to be an easy starter. A touch tricker from warm but not much. As suggested by other users I'm only running on 2 AA cells not 3. Fuel wise I'm running it on Aspen 2 which a 2% oil pre mix fuel with minimal additives - again this is something I'd seen recommend a few times for this engine. I'm using a plastic syringe to fill it - I've found it's easier to disconnect the pipe from the carb and fill it through that with the fuel tank cap of for a vent. Lubrication wise for the rest of the engine I have some sewing machine oil which comes in a handy long nosed bottle which makes it easy to apply. Next step is to drive something from it - maybe a small generator.
