This is a preliminary review. We bought this on speculation to compare with our existing EXFO 715B device as it has similar features and capabilities but is 1/5th the cost. As an OTDR is is a functional unit at short distances, and we have tested at 50 meter lengths. We have 20 Km tests under way. What we see so far is an excellent instrument for use by fibre installation and ethernet cable installers as it covers both requirements well, tested against the 715B and a $4000 Ethernet cable verifier. The power meter and VFL are excellent. The tone tracer is rubbish, but that's not what we care about.
