Purchased to run a GRBL build as a CNC router controller. Beware the pin alignment between the UNO, CNC shield and A4988 boards - i had to re-align some of the rows of header pins / sockets to allow the boards to assemble. Tested the UNO board - connects to the Arduino software and have downloaded a test program without issue. Note this board uses the CH340 USB-to-serial chip which is known to have an Rx buffer over-run issue with GRBL. On the CNC shield, the EN/X/Y/Z/A/5V headers (blue - top left) are not inserted all the way and are misaligned with the matching yellow headers - in my case a jumper won't fit to these without re-soldering. These headers are only used for development so i don't think it will matter initially. The shield is stamped as v3.00. The latest GRBL build (v1.1) and genuine Protoneer CNC shield (v3.51) have swapped the mapping of spindle enable and z-axis end stops; if using this shield with the latest GRBL the user needs to consider the implication of this. Solder quality seems fine across all boards. Entering into this project i was unaware of the specifics regarding the genuine vs. clone boards. I'll try these to see if they will work (i expect that they will) but i do so knowing that if they don't i'll be purchasing genuine boards to finish the build.
