Not instant on like many of the switching supplies, this one seems to power up to the full 24V in about a second. So no big in rush of voltage. The PCB was excellent, no solder splashes or sloppy wiring, components all properly mounted. All in all, a very nice assembly job.

As with most of these supplies the first I do is disassemble them to make sure there's no solder blobs or bad connections. No way I assume they are perfect and just plug them in. Thus I wasn't surprised when I found that the J1 jumper had been repaired because it was obvious from the burn mark on the component side of the PCB that there was a problem with the circuitry. The problem had also obviously required a fuse replacement since it was cooked in that area as well. The issue with the repair was they didn't actually replace the jumper at J1, they just bridged the gap with solder. Because it's cheap, quick and they could care less about your safety or quality of their products. Once I fixed it properly with a jumper, I found it takes about 2 seconds from a cold start before the supply kicks in. Voltage is stable. As the old adage goes, you pay your money, you take your chances.
