I’ve now used quite a few of these Matter Smart Switches on my HomeKit system. They are very easy to add to HomeKit, just point your smartphone camera at the code on the switch and it automatically connects within a few moments. Devices from well known manufacturers have been found to be tricky, these couldn’t have been easier. The terminal for a switch is a very useful feature. If a switch rated at 230v is wired between that terminal and the live terminal, it allows local ‘dumb’ control of the load without needing a smart device. It doesn’t matter whether the switch is open or closed, changing it to the other state toggles the smart switch and the HomeKit control reflects the new state of the smart switch. I would guess that these modules are intended to be mounted within back boxes for ordinary light switches to convert them into smart lighting switches. Delivery was quicker than expected. Shipping from China to the UK was expected to take several weeks, but the package actually arrived about two weeks ahead of the earliest predicted arrival date.
