The device works only for 3 seconds after pressing the button. The button needs to be pressed the whole time for it to work. If you press and hold the button starts flashing orange, or you can quickly press the button twice and hold on the second press it will work without flashing orange. Either way you need to keep holding the button for it to work. Same behaviour is observed on battery and on power supply.
