When i order it ,i thought it was rechargeable and you can put it in a spot without the cable always connected. It is a bummer because i wanted to put it in my cars dashboard and all my free usb slots are occupied.But no worries I'll find a way! In general its a nice gadget,poor plastic but it is what that i expected.My package came completely compressed from the transport and from the one led stick the button was stuck and not clicky,i fixted. The colors are nice ,not too bright but also not too dark,and the mic nice addition with the misic ,it is quite accurate! I have not used the app yet.

roastBeefy I have these and they are battery powered .. did you long press the power button? (perhaps the batteries in yours are bad?..)

if you single press the button labeled power, it will show you the state of charge in 25% intervals with the bottom 4 LEDs showing green (e.g., 75% = 3 green bars)
