Nice auto-darkening welding mask glass unit. Bought a cheap auto helmet a while back but the darkening system was very unreliable leading to frequent flashes of arc when using it. Bought this unit to replace the crappy one. Tested briefly and seems to work a treat. Runs off two AAA batteries easily replaced which I prefer to the coin cells soldred into my old one. These were supposed to be recharged by the solar panel which meant I had to leave the helmet by a window in the workshop which was a pain. I prefer to keep my helmet in a box when not being used. This unit has a sensitivity pot and a delay pot for the return to clear screen timing. Both work well and setup to your preferences is simple. The third pot on the flying lead adjusts the 'darkness' of the activated screen and includes the on/off switch. This can be mounted on the side of the helmet for adjusting in use. I haven't tried welding with it yet and only used a bright lamp and sunlight to test so not certain of the strength of the filter but assume it's a pretty standard maximum of 11 to 13 and lower strengths for gas welding, plasma cutting or grinding. Overall it seems to be well made and operates well.
