The purpose of this light is to aim a camera through it and get evenly lighted pictures, without shadows. It does the job well, with three different color temperatures available, as well as being dimmable (though I'm not sure why you'd want to dim it), The stand is a selfie stick, with a detachable tripod base. It requires USB power, so if you're using it apart from a computer, you can use a USB charger you have lying around.
