BG494381733 There is a soft rubber cover on the switch which is still a mechanical type. So far, I have my battery kept inside the torch for several months, the light is still very strong. Hope it would be of help.

BG494381733 It depends on the distribution of the heating elements. Should there be any heating element, that location should warm up under normal working order.
