This is a photo of the tip of the iron after one a hour of usage at 330c. I'm using high quality flux and solder from MG Chemicals, and yet the tip is already eaten away into a concave shape. These tips are clearly not plated in nickel and chrome which is necessary to prevent this from happening!

Cute little kit. Would be nice if it came with some schematics or educational materials, but it is a neat example of how a 555 timer works in monostable mode.

GadgetBoy These tips are complete junk. I used one for an hour and it corroded into uselessness.

Although the appearance of the handle is cheap and hastily made, the electronics inside are of good quality, and the tip is earthed and isolated from the mains. Overall a decent iron for it's price,
