RC_Dude If you are a complete beginner and want to start flying on a windy day without experience then you should use gyro. If you have some experience, at least you know how to fly gliders in flight simulators you don’t need gyro especially if the weather is calm. I recommend not flying for the first time if the wind speed exceeds 5 m per s or more. Once you have experience no problems flying up to 8-9 m per s wind speed without gyro. The glider is stable enough but CG I set up back about 1cm in order to slightly increase the pitch authority and glide ratio. Aileron autority is not enough, but for sharp turns I use yaw + ailerons together works great. Also for extra stability I folded the central wing connector upwards about 3 degrees so now wings is V shaped. I plan to modify wings by gluing a triangle balsa strip 2-3 cm wide to the rear edge to increase the wing area while reducing wing loading and increasing aileron authority. Aerodynamics will improve as the total thickness of the profile will decrease and the trailing edge will no longer be so wide. I also plan to spread the ailerons wider as much as possible and redesign the wingtip to custom 3d printed one using optimized one on XFLR5. I have reverse enginered all volantex asw 28 glider in XFLR5 program and I found that the wing area (35dm^2) is way too low for such a glider weight (1650g with battery) but the wing profile is good enough even if it is so thick probably due to the high wing loading. When I finish the proje

Q: I want to upgrade the antennas. Which ones are better?

RC_Dude Those original Eachine EV800D antennas are significantly better than any other antennas that cost up to $50. Just put the same Eachine K-Loverleaves 5.8G on the video transmitter too it will double the distance compared to the pigtail vTX antenna. Stingpad antenna is 16dBi Eachine K-Loverleaves 5dBi which means it's the perfect combination when there is diversity one works in close distance other in high distance but you have to face to the vTx antenna directly. Any other hobby grade antenna will only reduce the distance. https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-K-Loverleaves-5_8G-5dBi-6-Leaf-Clover-Antenna-RHCP-SMA-or-RP-SMA-1-Pair-For-FPV-VTX-RX-RC-Drone-p-1152016.html?cur_warehouse=CZ&ID=523627&rmmds=search

RC_Dude I guess RHCP. I bought a pair of the same antennas Eachine K-Loverleaves 5.8GHz for vTX they were the same RHCP. https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-K-Loverleaves-5_8G-5dBi-6-Leaf-Clover-Antenna-RHCP-SMA-or-RP-SMA-1-Pair-For-FPV-VTX-RX-RC-Drone-p-1152016.html?cur_warehouse=CZ&ID=523627&rmmds=search When placed RHCP K-Loverleaves on the vTX (instead of stock pigtail) it worked perfectly with my Eachine EV800D. Both the K-Loverleaves and the Stingpad higly directional antenna on a Eachine EV800D works with vTX RHCP Eachine K-Loverleaves. I tested both Eachine EV800D antennas just by covering one and the other antenna with my hand everything worked great in diversity mode. Stigpad antenna on a Eachine EV800D is not polarized so it can work equaly with any type of polarization.

RC_Dude Even if the voltage recovers it does not shut da f**k up and beeping like a hell at 100+dB and anoying everyone around untill you unplug it. However it is a very useful device for long and safe use of your batteries. One of my such device broke down and no longer works probably got wet when I sailed the rc boat.

RC_Dude No this is only for firmware update. You need this cable or similar

RC_Dude This works great right out of the box of course if you just charge the battery first. Of course you first need a camera and a transmitter to send a video signal so that these receivers can receive and display video (and audio if a camera with a microphone). To make the whole FPV system you will still need a camera and a transmitter or a camera with a transmitter if the setup is not PRO level https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-TX02-NTSC-Super-Mini-AIO-5_8G-40CH-200mW-VTX- 600TVL-1-or-4-Cmos-FPV-Camera-p-1088368.html? Rmmds = search & cur_warehouse = CN But you can always improve everything by connecting an external power supply to the googles from the li-ion / lipo 3s battery for a longer operating time (cabel included). I highly recommend placing the same K antenna on the transmitter as the link on the receiver refers to the same antenna as the K antenna on these googles. Because the original pig-tail antenna is very bad compared to this K I tried, the difference is double the distance. Warning Do not turn on the transmitter until the (any) antenna is attached to the transmitter. Because the transistors of the transmitter will burn and if you are lucky the signal will be very weak 10 times weaker than normal.
