Q: does this unit record while charging

xboxtex I have tried to record and then plug in the charging cable, and it stops the recording so the answer is no.

Q: Does this camera support sending alert images by email or does it support alarm only by mobile app? Is http ui available with this camera or only mobile app?

xboxtex Short answer is only to the app.When the camera detects a moving object,it generates an alert message,and the cloud server then sends it to your app.If you have a memory card installed it will record the alert video or (cloud storage could be subscribed then you could download the video for viewing,you can only download alert videos when you have memory card in camera or subscribed cloud storage. Don't be afraid to try this camera,you will fall in love with this cute little device. I only just received it so I haven't had the time to realy test it out, but it looks promising and I must say they should strongly point out that you must disable 5GHz on your routers Wi-Fi if you have a "duel band router" to be able to set up this camera as this would save a lot of time for the user trying to set up a camera like this for the first time. Five stars so far, CHEERS
