Q: Specification says 6v minimum - how does this run with usb 5v?

Asked by rorywquin1 on 2019-06-15 04:17:23

infra223 The board uses 5V internally. You have 3 ways to power the board: 1. Power directly via the "5V" pin from a 5V power supply, but you will have to make sure the power supply can provide a stable 5V (use a external power supply or buck-boost converter set to 5V). 2. USB cable - the USB power line, which is 5V, is connected internally to the 5V rail 3. Through the "VIN" pin that is connected to the onboard voltage regulator in cases where you do not have access to a stable 5V supply. You need to provide at least 6v so that the onboard voltage regulator is able to regulate to 5v. It needs the 1V margin to regulate effectively. (more expensive LDO regulators exists that have a smaller margin)

Q: Can I use a normal mobile USB cable to connect this arduino to my pc??

Asked by Vashista Bhaskar Ramgundam on 2017-12-24 11:26:06

infra223 This seems to be using mini USB (if images are accurate). Most mobile phones use Micro USB or USB C, which will not work with this board, unless you have an adapter.
