Stan This device uses a current transformer to sense AC current. Just run the current carrying wire through the center of the supplied ring (toroidal current transformer) shown in the photo.

If I look under following table https://www.sab-kabel.de/kabel-konfektion-temperaturmesstechnik/technische-daten/kabel-leitungen/amerikanischer-litzenaufbau.html under 16AWG and flexible cable, I can see, that the max. current Ampere all under 10A (worst case 5A). francescosalmaso The awg 16 cable (black and white) are logical gnd and signal, so the courrent of 35 A does not go through them. The cable for ESC supply are bigger and also silver plated.
