These Racerstar 8520 motors consume a maximum of 4.1 amps each according to my tests done before putting them on the frame of the EX100 in replacement to Chaoli which consumes up to 2 amperes. So, since I was getting 125 grams of thrust with the Chaoli motors. I felt that these Racerstar motors could potentially produce 250 grams of thrust using double the current. However, I got a total of 165 grams of thrust with 4 Racerstar motors, 97 grams with 2 motors and 50 grams using a single motor. Since we should get a total thrust of 200 grams (or up to the estimated 250 grams), the total thrust is definitely limit by some factor (24awg wire on the flight controller, micro losi connector, the flight controller that support max 5A per motor, etc.). In fact the current consumption seems to limit to about 10A. So, I recommend using these motors with a flight controller supporting 10A per motor and with an XT30 connector to be able to use these motors to their full potential. Despite everything I am very satisfied with these motors so far.

  • jeansebastien89 If anyone asks the question, I get a max thrust of 146-148 grams using three motors (in fact four motor but 3 propellers...). So, with four motors you should get 200 grams of thrust which would become a fairly good weight / thrust ratio.

  • minimotorquads Take into account loss of efficiency.

  • jeansebastien89 From memory (before breaking the motors in a crash), I got a little over 190g of thrust by replacing the connector by a JST with 22 awg wire and a good battery. There is, therefore, little loss of efficiency. I am back with the Chaoli motors for the moment...

  • selmanyalcin16 thanks a lot ı need 30 gram thrust per motor and they should use Max 2 amps so using chaoli is more logical for me right
