Kobie Thegreen device is a light dependent resistor. It allow the board to only come on in darkness. You can short it out to make the board active all the time if powered.

Kobie Just a take note. The soldering iron do not like generator simulated sine wave power. It just become slightly warm, but do not get hot. Back on grid power or pure sine wave inverter, it works perfect. No damage from the short run on simulated sine wave standby generator. Thanks for that blessing.

Kobie Ihave the same experience with 940nm and 850nm leds. The cameras are not as sensitive generally to the 940nm. It is still much safer to use them in a dangerous situation with a camera and screen than a bright white torch, or even the visible 850nm that totally defeat the purpose.

Kobie Isuspect that it is meant to be mounted inside a metal tube as in a flashlight. The center contact will make direct contact with the battery, and the two tabs on the side will make contact with the tube. I guess the switching is between the center and the two outside tabs witch may be connected together or common? Am I correct on my assumption?
